Pediatric Physical Therapist Responsibilities:

• Creating unique, individualized treatment plans that outline the treatment goals and methods to be used.
• Helping children to learn to move their bodies correctly, make their movements less painful, increase the functions of injured body parts, and heal from injuries.
• Assessing patients and monitoring their progress.
• Using techniques like functional training and exercise, medication, diet changes, and specialized equipment that is designed to treat and alleviate pain.

The SLP will perform screenings, assess patient condition, and design therapy and treatment plans to help the patient develop necessary speech skills. You should be caring and knowledgeable about speech-related conditions and therapies. To succeed as a SLP, you should be willing to alter treatment plans to better suit the individual needs of a diverse patient population. You should be caring, adaptable, analytical, and resourceful.
